Every time I've gone to entertain the troops at Pico Day, someone always says I should write a book about my experiences. However, they are merely anecdotes and odd views of how America's changed since I was a runt in the mid 1970's.

Sounds like you have some good material, and just need to find a way to weave it into a story. At least, that's what I do with my anecdotes and odd views. I haven't read his stuff. I'll start now. Thanks for the recommendation.
